On this page, I’ll provide some additional context, share photos of my process, and explain how these works relate to the Utah Lake Authority’s proposed project.

Production Template
I collaborated with enfleshed to create packaging & illustrations for Sacred Incantations, an oracle deck.
The cards were split into four seasons: germinating, rooting, blooming, and decaying. Each season was assigned a color. I suggested using dandelions to illustrate the four seasons.
A challenging composition
The brief included a design for the deck packaging. However, the size of the box was undetermined, and wouldn’t be known until months after the design was finalized.
Understanding the limitations, I created a template for the box that could adapt to different sizes. The artwork would organically flow around the box, regardless of the final dimensions.
With this template, we were able to confidently design a striking box.
But I’d Miss the Birds Letterpress Print
This print is my farewell to New York City, created as an ode to the surprising wildlife and quiet moments I found there.
This piece is a 3 layer reduction print, using two hand-carved linoleum blocks and layered with antique wood type.
Making space for type
This piece shows how complex illustration—the building—can organically make space for more simplistic rendering—the birds. Text or other important information can then be layered over the simplistic rendering.
Street Medic Convergence Illustration
I was asked to create an illustration for the annual Northeastern Street Medic Convergence, a conference of emergency medical volunteers meeting in the forests of Upstate New York in September.
The goal of the meeting is to share knowledge, foster relationships, and help medics administer better care to their communities.
To honor that theme, I illustrated a collection of moments that attendees would likely see in the woods.
Meaning in the marks
I carefully chose scenes that would be both familiar and symbolic to conference attendees.
Like the conference itself, this design celebrates care, community, and connections in the forest.
The Clouds in Washington Linocut Print
A few years ago, I went on a road trip across the United States, traversing nearly 8,000 miles in four weeks. When I got back to my studio, I made a series of reduction prints inspired by the most memorable places.
My favorite of these is this print, which depicts the view of the Puget Sound from Vashon Island, just outside of Seattle.
Evoking the memory of a place
The print is relatively simple—just two layers—but it instantly brings the memory of the place to mind. It’s not a photo-realistic depiction, and in fact, when you look closely, the perspective and the details begin to break down. Those inconsistencies contribute to a dream-like image.
As a result, the artwork feels more like a memory of a place than a photograph.
And people notice. Everywhere I exhibit this print, people instantly know it’s the Puget Sound.
I hope to evoke the same memory of Utah Lake with your project.
Signs of Spring Linocut Print
The linocut print celebrates the early signs of spring in the Northeastern U.S, including spring peepers, red winged black birds, cherry blossoms, and crocuses.
A unique composition
This print combines naturalistic illustration with a unique feature of the composition—the artwork is symmetrical. To create this work, I carved one block that includes each element, print it once, and then rotate the paper 180 degrees and print it again.
This clever approach to composition pairs with realistic linocut illustration to create a memorable and pleasing pattern.
Snowy Mountain Letterpress Card
I made these New Year cards for friends, family, and clients. It combines a hand-carved linocut block with antique metal type.
Simple and expressive
Sometimes more colors doesn’t make a landscape more evocative. This illustration captures the majesty and wonder of a snowy mountain scene with black ink on white paper.
Moonrise Over the East River Linocut Print
On the evening of the full moon, I often go down to the Seaport in New York City. While most people are taking photos of the sunset over Manhattan, I turn east and watch the full moon rise over the East River. This print captures that moment, quiet and reflective while surrounded by city life.
Subtle silhouettes
This print combines simple shapes with evocative colors. Instead of rendering each building in the Brooklyn skyline, I reduced them to simple, blocky silhouettes. The effect draws the eye to the more detailed areas, like the bridges and the water, creating a sense of stillness.
